Our largest UK site in Harrogate is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Supervisor to join the Bioanalysis division. The Laboratory Supervisor will join the Large Molecule department and will be responsible for managing a team of laboratory analysts and technicians, reporting directly to the Operations Manager.
As the Laboratory Supervisor, you will have responsibility for training and development of the team of laboratory analysts and for performance monitoring. You will be involved in scheduling workloads, to ensure that client projects are completed on time and the distribution of work is equal across the team. You will also work with the lead scientist, as they act as a scientific reference point for the study and for the laboratory analysts that you supervise.
Finally, you will also be involved in process improvement projects on a global scale to ensure the department is always performing to the best of it’s ability.

* Scientific degree (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences etc.)
* 3 to 5 year’s relevant scientific industry experience, working to GLP regulations.
*Computing skills, including word processing and use of spreadsheets (e.g. Microsoft Office packages and Microsoft Project).
*An in depth knowledge of health and safety policies and of GMP/GLP/GCP.
*The post holder should be able to communicate effectively at all levels and integrate well within an established and fast growing team.
*Previous experience of direct line management is not essential but may be beneficial, however excellent managerial skills are essential, as the role will involve direct supervision of laboratory personnel on a daily basis.
*Knowledge of Immunochemistry techniques is desirable.
