Earlier aspects of oncology drug development, which include translating preclinical findings into the clinic, such as incorporating biomarkers for PK/PD-driven dosing decisions, and for testing predictive markers for potential companion diagnostics for responders in patient enrichment trials are also core strengths of the department. Covance has contributed to the development of 49 of the 50 most significant oncology medicines.
