  • Job Overview

    As a mobile software engineer, you will participate in the design and development of mobile software solutions to enable scalable, secure, and intuitive access to data by Covance’s global network of employees, partners, and clients.  Must be able to work in a highly collaborative environment and must be able to work with internal and external engineering teams to build and launch data-enabled capabilities and service offerings.  The focus of the job will be building mobile applications for the most advanced clinical trial management software available - the Xcellerate® Informatics Suite.

    Education / Qualifications

    BS/MS in computer science, information systems, life sciences, or similar.

    Experience

    • 2+ years of hands-on experience in software development
    • Hands on experience with native or hybrid mobile application development for iOS or Android
    • Hands on software development experience with Objective-C/Swift, Java, React Native, Cordova or similar working with iPhone and Android SDKs and related frameworks
    • Experience with multi-threading and mobile device memory management
    • Experience with developing data-driven applications using REST-based APIs, JSON data structures, relational databases, NoSQL and caching technologies
    • Hands on software development experience building secure, performant, scalable, and reliable REST based services using .NET, Node.js or similar technologies
    • Experience with UI design principles, data visualization, and making apps work intuitively
    • Solid understanding of web development and related technologies
    • Good understanding and ability to interpret business requirements
    • Good communication skills and proficiency in English
