    Nimble biotechs have different needs than large pharmaceutical organizations. That is why a new biotech-specific business unit has been launched under Chiltern, a Covance Company brand, the result of the recent Covance and Chiltern integration.

     

     

    THE JOB

     

    We are currently looking for a Business Development Director to join our EU Biotech Oncology Sales team developing new and expand current relationships within Switzerland, Italy, Spain and France for all emerging and established oncology biotech companies to drive new RFP pipelines, converting these opportunities into signed new business, achieving/exceeding your sales target.

     

    This job can be either home or office based in Switzerland, Italy or Spain.

     

    You will be tasked with generating business by providing oncology biotechs with agile clinical trial solutions, bringing together the successful Covance/Chiltern´s full portfolio of drug development services exclusively for biotechs (providing personalized attention, deep therapeutic expertise and extensive experience working with Biotech firms) with the extensive portfolio of capabilities from within the Covance Hub (central labs, clinical pharmacology, market access strategies and more), to meet the growing complexity of our clients needs.

      

    We are looking for a commercially aware, experienced Business Development Director with minimum 3 years experience in a similar position at an International Contract Research Organization environment, bringing a comprehensive understanding of drug development and commercialisation, coupled with strong customer focus, listening and relationship building skills.

    Education / Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree, life science or business field preferred 
    • Multilingual capabilities to these regions will be hugely benefitial to the success in the role
    • Advanced industry knowledge: functional understanding of drug development and experience in product commercialisation

    Experience

     

    Minimum 3 years Business Development experience from global or international mid/small CRO, selling services directly to the pharmaceutical and biotech sectors, including direct interaction with mid-level and executive level decision makers, and/or experience in product sales and marketing within a biotech/pharmaceutical company.

     

    Our ideal candidate brings strong sales CRO background, including:

     

    • Generating commercial opportunities
    • Managing key Accounts
    • Achieving year-to year account portfolio financial goals
    • Participating at BID defense meetings
    • Strong financial acumen: delivering business results in a commercial environment; budgeting; financial planning and reporting
