    Covance is currently seeking an experienced Client Services, Proposals & Budgets Manager to join their Leading Pharmaceutical Proposal Team. This person will be part of a global proposal team dedicated to supporting top pharmaceutical RFP responses.


    Ideally based at our facilities in Maidenhead, we are prepared to offer home based flexibility to the right person (considering that regular presence in Maidenhead will be needed for meetings, training, etc.). There is also the possibility to work from other UK based Covance facilities to broaden our scope of qualified candidates.



    This is a dynamic role, in which you will be involved in leading the proposal process for key and high profile proposal responses. This means you will/are:


    • Interact and drive the proposal process across a matrix environment with strong project management skills to compile award-winning proposal responses
    • Effectively edit and amend proposal text in collaboration with key subject matter experts to concisely and creatively position Covance in industry leading proposals.
    • Excel in managing multiple projects while upholding timelines and superior quality.
    • Energized by supporting key business wins and have a stellar appreciation for the RFP process and being part of Covance’s future growth strategies


    Acting as a proposal development leader, we will trust you to proactively bring solutions, collaborate with key stakeholders to creatively push proposal boundaries of proposal writing, and be an integral part of supporting commercial wins in conjunction with Executive, operational and sales leaders.


    You will review RFPs to ensure proposals comply with clients’ requirements and to uphold on-time proposal responses. Please note, being proficient in developing budgets is not required but a clear advantage for candidates.  


    You will manage opportunities autonomously, ensuring the response team is developing creative solutions for client inquiries, establishing clear timelines, anticipating obstacles and providing solutions to meet client requirements.

    Education / Qualifications

    Bachelor’s Degree in a life science, business, finance or similar field. Journalisim, writing, editing, and/or project management certification are also impressive expertise that will elevevate your impact earlier at Covance.


    We are looking for someone bringing extensive direct clinical RFP experience and have background or knowledge in what makes top pharmaceutical companies different from the rest of the industry.




    • Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail and ability to be persistent while maintaining tact
    • Demonstrated computer skills – requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
    • Demonstrated teamwork, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills
    • Proven ability to work independently
    • Knowledge of other software applications (i.e. SFDC) preferred
    • Ability to work to deadlines
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with clients and Covance senior management
    • Positive attitude and sense of urgency
