    COVANCE is a leading global drug development services company and we provide support to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries. We have an exciting opportunity available to join our RFI (Request for Information) team.

    The RFI Team at Covance falls under the Strategic Writing, Presentations, Experience, Information, Knowledge and Experience group within the Commercial Organization at Covance. The mission of the RFI Response Team is to efficiently manage information requests within the RFI process, provide accurate/validated Covance information and data, and support the global commercial organization to win new business by writing responses that are consistent, compelling and award-winning.


    We are currently recruiting a Senior RFI Coordinator to join our team focusing on Clinical Development Services (Phase II-IV and Device/Diagnostics) RFIs. This position is in the UK, and can be either home-based or office-based. This is a full-time regular position.



    About the job:


    • Writes effective RFI responses by using existing RFI tools, systems and processes such as Procurement systems/platforms (e.g., Ariba), (SFDC), SharePoint, Qvidian, etc.
    • Leads RFI requests autonomously
    • Is resourceful about finding information and suggesting ideas
    • Bears primary responsibility for writing core Clinical Development Services Business Unit (BU) RFI responses and contributes to integrated RFI responses, with back-up responsibility for adjacent BU RFI responses as assigned
    • Assigns actions and completes follow-up with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), coordinates all document templates, sets up logistics for Response Team meetings, and collects data for client deliverables.
    • Reviews RFI requests to ensure initial understanding of client requirements
    • Is responsible for working with response team members (e.g., Client Services/Proposals team, Operations, Finance, Account Executives and others) to compile information/data required for client deliverables
    • Performs administrative tasks related to RFI data entry, maintenance and reporting for the various tools and systems as appropriate (e.g., updates, RFI Tab entries, and generating both regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports)
    • Maintains/provides back-up for BU response library content and templates as assigned, working with Content Managers, Writers and Client Managers
    • Contributes to assigned RFI process improvement projects and supports implementation as defined and assigned by management

    Education / Qualifications

    Degree in a scientific, business or related field (or equivalent work experience) preferred


    Former experience within proposal environment required

    Strong background at CRO/pharma or similar role needed

    • Previous experience responding to RFIs and/or Requests for Proposal (RFPs) required RFPs required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Editing / writing / story crafting skills, preferably with previous life sciences experience
    • Demonstrated computer skills – requires excellent MS Office experience (specifically Excel, Word, Outlook)
    • Demonstrated ability to plan, multi-task and prioritize
    • Knowledge of other software applications (i.e. SFDC, Proposal Automation) preferred
    • Flexibility and willingness to work to meet deadlines, expected and unexpected
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Strong team player
