    Lab Supervisor – Flow Cytometry

     

    COVANCE is a leading global drug development services company and we provide support to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries. 

     

    We are recruiting for our Central Laboratory in Geneva and are currently seeking to hire a Laboratory Supervisor to help support the management of the Flow Cytometry department.

     

    This is a full time position, based in our Geneva office.

     

    About the Job

     

    Within this position, your duties will include:

    • To manage day-to-day organization of staff to ensure that tests are performed accurately and effectively and results are reported in a timely manner
    • To supervise laboratory staff with respect to goal setting and performance evaluation
    • To ensure that medical technologists are appropriately trained to support on-going routine production
    • To provide day-to-day support to medical technologists to identify and resolve problems as well as to be able to run and interpret assays as needed
    • To ensure that all procedures are accurate and that laboratory activities comply with laboratory standards and procedures (GCP and GLP)
    • to ensure that laboratory personnel comply with CAP and ISO15189 quality management systems and safety practices
    • To participate in the implementation of new assay validations, instruments, and equipment according to SOPs
    • Evaluate data for accuracy and verify any questionable finding with proper documentation, thorough investigation, and appropriate follow-through

    What we’re looking for

    To be successful in this position, you will need to hold a BS degree in Biology, Chemistry or other life Science plus 1 year clinical testing experience; or Medical Technology degree.

     

    Additionally, you will need to demonstrate:

    • Good command of English; Command of French is a plus.
    • Computer literate.
    • Previous experience as a senior technician or laboratory manager is a must
    • Flow Cytometry experience preferred
    • Some experience in a laboratory following clinical training;
    • prior supervisory or management experience is a plus.
    • Prefer professional certification (ASCP, AABB, or other) in area(s) of expertise.
    • qualification by the Foederation Analyticorum Medicilanium Helveticorum (FAMH) or by the Foederation Medicorum Helveticoruma (FMH) is a plus.
