We are currently recruiting for a Histology Cellular Pathology Scientists at our site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. You will work within our modern purpose-built Histology department, where you will play a key role in the dissection and harvesting of tissue samples which is the first step in the process towards microscopic evaluation.
Histology Cellular Pathology Scientists provide support to Covance Non-clinical Safety Assessment (NSA) and non-NSA areas over a wide range of cellular pathology functions.
Specific emphasis of this 12 month role is centred on the direct involvement in the Histology - Special Patholgy Services group. The jobholder will be principally involved in the assessment of Tissue Cross Reactivity of therapeutic monoclonal/polyclonal antibodies. Duties will primarilty include the preparation of cyro-sections and immunohistochemical staining procedures.
The jobholder is expected to follow a comprehensive training programme to acquire general and specific responsibilities in relation to Histology - Special Patholgy Services . These responsibilities will include a comprehensive range of operational procedures and the awareness of productivity and quality parameters.
Preferably BSc (Hons) in Biomedical/Biological Sciences.
Preferably Membership or Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science.
Participation in an approved Continuing Professional Development programme at a level commensurate with experience, education and professional body membership.
Preferably previous experience of working within a regulatory laboratory environment. Although not essential, a minimum of one year previous operational histology experience, including extensive experience in specialised cellular pathology procedures would be beneficial.
