COVANCE is a leading global drug development services company and we provide support to the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries.

At Covance, we offer real work assignments that compliment an education in STEM+ Healthcare disciplines, are challenging and recognized to the organization as valuable. Our interns have the opportunity to showcase their work, allowing them to demonstrate their achievements to Covance senior management, their supervisor and mentors. Each intern class participates in a group philanthropic project allowing them to see firsthand how Covance is dedicated to its community. In addition, Covance encourages professional development and career exploration through program workshops, each designed to help students prepare for a thriving career in our industry.

This internship is only open for student who have not yet graduated and for a period of 4 to 6 months.

About the job

The Intern will be   responsible for the successful delivery of forms/applications/databases to improve the current processes of Sample Management (SM) department.

The Intern will work closely with Sample Management supervisors and other Covance Central Laboratory Services (CCLS) departments interacting with SM.

SM department has a variety of services to complete for internal/external clients and the performance of these activities often requires the use of several applications. The mission of the intern will be to improve some of the activities of SM group by developing new tools (forms/databases/…).

In order to complete the project, the incumbent will first have to analyse the challenges the team members are facing. She/he will then have to identify IT solutions to improve the processes in place (creation of request forms, databases…) and to develop the solution from creation of the requirements to development of the solution.

The intern will work closely with a supervisor who will mentor him during the whole duration of the internship.

Upon completion of the project, SM staff should have better tools to follow-up requests from internal customers and SM Management would get a greater visibility of the workload of some of the teams.
