At our pre-clinical development site in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, we currently recruiting for a Laboratory Assistant to join our Genetic Toxicology department.

 

As a Laboratory Assistant, you are primarily laboratory based support staff who are responsible for ordering, reagent preparation, stock control and general house-keeping within a regulatory compliant laboratory.

Due to the varied nature of the work involved, candidates must be able to demonstrate a flexible approach to laboratory support work, possess good communication and time management skills and be able to maintain a high standard of record keeping. No formal qualifications are required, although an interest in the drug development industry alongside a practical knowledge of a relevant subject, gained through completion of a GCSEs course (or similar) or working within a regulatory environment would be advantageous. This is not essential as full training will be given. What is more important is the willingness to learn and integrate into a team environment. A patient, methodical approach to work is essential as well as good manual dexterity and the ability to work unsupervised.

Education / Qualifications

Good general education A’Levels/HNC level with experience of laboratory work or a scientific degree.

Experience

No previous laboratory experience required but would be advantageous Good communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills Excellent attention to detail. Ability to utilise word-processing software, databases, spreadsheet and specialised software. Knowledge and understanding of GLP and aseptic techniques would be preferable
